The Craft and Folk Art Museum (CAFAM) is situated opposite the Los Angeles County Museum of Art. Our office created a staged development Master Plan, juxtaposing a 1920s era mercantile building with a 1950s commercial structure to form a Museum from a cross-section of American roadside culture. When the opportunity arose for Los Angeles’ famous craft oriented restaurant the Egg and Eye to acquire an adjacent property, Edyth and Frank Wylie seized the occasion in order to create a full-fledged museum.
